How should a goodyear-welted shoe fit?Updated a year ago

A Goodyear-welted shoe should fit comfortably with:

  • Toe Room: Enough space for toes without touching the front.
  • Length: A thumb's width between the longest toe and shoe tip.
  • Width: Snug fit at the widest part of the foot.
  • Heel: Snug but not slipping; slight movement is normal.
  • Arch Support: Adequate support without strain.
  • nstep: Comfortable fit without tightness.
  • Flex Point: Aligns with the ball of the foot.
  • Comfort: In general Goodyear welted shoes need a break in process to get as comfortable as they really are.
